Solid Energy Sports & Leisure Centre

This multi sports facility consists of a 25m pool and aquatic facilities beside a 2-court sport stadium, including dry and wet changing facilities, function room, fitness centre, 2 squash courts and an external illuminated hockey turf. Innovative use of both natural and artificial lighting along with references throughout the building to the West Coast dialect (whitebait, Nikau and Buller river stones) can be seen on the facades and interiors. This complex provides the region with a centre that will attract both regional and national sports and cultural events and is already becoming a significant resource for visitor and community growth in Buller District.
